7D - old hat?

So, despite only recently getting a 40D, which I absolutely love, the HD video is becoming very appealing so I'm going to once again move up the ladder...

Thing is, I've come to buy one and the big places are all out of stock, so I'm just checking that we're not round the corner from a 7D MkII or anything as I can't see another reason for the lack of stock?

Any ideas?

ahh thats interesting i hadn't thought of that (obvious) reason...

as for the noise performance... ive read plenty of times that the noise performance is slightly better than the 50D, not sure about the 60 (but for me from a 40D, its going to be a decent upgrade...)

of course you can always wait for a new release but if theres a good year yet im happy to go for the 7D... my main reasons will be the video, better screen, and noise performance
