7k performance hatch

I just don't think that someone who is apparently looking for a sharp handling, chuckable hatch would enjoy the size and weight of the vRS, it's a very capable family car with a huge boot and a turbo, but a classic drivers car it is very much not.

Then you'd have to exclude the Leon, Golf Gti etc too then for the same reasons. The Octavia is only about 30kg heavier than the Golf.

The OP asks for a performance hatch, I'd say the above fit that criteria .. but of course it all depends what the OP really wants. There certainly won't be many more focused cars that still hit 28mpg around town and get close to the other requirements!

I take your point, I've not driven a Golf since my heavily modified MkII 16v, that was night and day to the Octavia but by all accounts the Golf type of cars have got "fatter" over the years.

24mpg is the lowest I've ever seen, and that was on a run up to Alston Bypass. Following a mate in an Imprezza and another mate in a Clio Trophy.

35mpg is the highest I've ever seen, and it was pretty hard to achieve that as well.

Pfft, is that it? I managed 16.4MPG on a round trip up there on Saturday :p

39.2MPG is my best ever, coming back from Ford Fair.

I used to own a corsa vxr (58 plate from new) had it for a little over 3 years. Apart from one or two technical issues it was a great car to drive. Very enjoyable.

33kg is quite significant, but you are right it isn't going to make a huge difference. I would agree the VRs must be included as a consideration, and if it drives anything like my Mk5 GTI then it should be a nice car.

I looked at Mini's when I got the Fiesta but it'd be perhaps a little small as this Fiesta is quite small. My missus has a Corsa Limited Edition and it feels much roomier (and much more solid lol)
