Hi
Has anyone here ever had any problems making the 7 Volt cooling fan mod (connecting the fan to +12v & +5v)?
Searching around, I have got the impression that this has the potential to damage a MoBo and/or PSU - has this ever happened to you?
In addition to a 120mm PSU fan, a CPU fan, a NB fan and a Graphics card fan, I currently have 4 x 80mm fans running off 12v and want to "quieten" them
Incidentally, I do know that the "correct" answer is to change the 80mm fans to 120mm ones or to fit a resistor/switch but I don't want to mod the case (Lian-Li PC-60) and am too mean to buy a resistor/switch
