Hi guys i got these fans today but trouble is they're a bit too loud at 12v (coming from Akasa Ambers!) so I need some help getting them to 7v.

Basically this is how its connected up:

You'll see that I've connected the cathode to the male-female couple on the fan... :o I don't know if that is correct or not but I only had one power connector from the PSU. I can put another if needs be though.

Is it possible to 7volt the fan without damaging the cathode or anything else? Thanks!

Is this a correct guide? http://www.overclock.net/faqs/13386-how-silence-my-fans-undervolting.html

The thing I'm worried about is that they say it is good to connect something else to the molex pass through such as a cathode (which I do indeed have), however I have nothing to connect to the pass through of the other fan. Can I just mod it and leave it as it is, i.e. nothing connected, or is that dangerous?

Ah ha I managed it :D so happy even though its a simple mod:o. I'm going to buy another cathode for the molex pass through to take the voltage just in case.
