I updated my dll's a few months back to 9.20

black%20preview.png

cream%20preview.png

This file contains the following dll's

32 bit cream (xp colour)
64 bit cream
32 bit black/grey
64 bit black/grey

http://bleddyn.co.uk/7zip/icons/7zip_icons_v9.20.7z

Drop the corresponding dll into your 7zip folder (typically C:\Program Files\7-Zip )

You may have to do the following.. open 7zip as admin, Tools, Options, tick associations, and click Ok

I used reshacker to do the changes, and included the icon files that I made if anyone wants to use them

I use the black ones in Windows 7 and the cream ones in XP

Nice one bledd. Cheers. :) I can't download this at work thanks to the filters here but I'll download at home and Dropbox it to myself for tomorrow! :p

Edit - Immediately after I post and close the tab the file is ready to download. :D

:( cannot get the Icons to work with 7zip, renamed the old file and replaced but then cannot open any archive. Must be because I'm using the 64bit version of 7zip :(

Have not got the time currently to hack the DLL myself and replace all the icons

Either..

-You're not using version 9.20
-You're using 32bit 7zip and trying to copy the 64bit dll
-You're using 64bit 7zip and trying to copy the 32bit dll

All the dll's are included in the file (both 32 and 64)

In 7zip, click, Help, About. Should say 9.20

deff using 9.20 64bit downloaded and reinstalled it twice trying to use the Black/grey Icons from the 64 folder but no go :( will try downloading them again.

Downloaded both fresh and reinstalled unziped to desktop closed 7zip opened installed folder and renamed original file put in new file and it no longer works :(

The only element of the dll that is altered is the icon groups, I've retried it all myself just now and they all work..

Make sure 7zip is closed when you're doing the change.. (Or it won't let you)

-edit, let me try it on a brand new install

Bigboy, I reckon what you're doing wrong is the following..

You're renaming the "7-zip.dll" file and not the "7z.dll"

7z.dll is the one that I've altered

Just tried it on a Windows 7 x64 virtual machine that has never had 7zip installed on it before, and it worked

Renamed and copied file black 64bit from archive

Error when trying to open a known good archive

Any idea?

Try this..

"You may have to do the following.. open 7zip as admin, Tools, Options, tick associations, and click Ok"

You haven't had the 32bit install on there before have you? (maybe it's referencing the 32bit app as the default program somewhere)

Click Start, type '7zfm', right click, 'run as admin', Tools, Options, (select all, and untick any you don't want -maybe ISO) click Ok

Associate with is blank for some reason :/
7zip4.jpg

Never had 32bit installed but did have winrar installed but removed prior to installing 7zip

Uninstall 7zip, reboot

Delete your C:\Program Files\7zip\ dir

Something screwy going on here, my dll can't cause that..

I've been using this for months on multiple machines

from XP32, XP64, Vista, 7.. Never had a single problem :S

even replacing the icons myself its still dont work :/ Stupid thing must be something to do with the associations. not to worry will be doing a reinstall soon (new hardware) so will try again then!
