8.1 and 8.2 ATI Drivers...Problem??

hello.

I am currently using the 7.12 ATI driver for my HD 3850 and having no problems whatsoever using it.

When i try to update to the 8.1 or the 8.2 driver then everything works fine, all apart from (far)Crysis with stutters away and is totally unplayable.

It seems that Crysis will only play on my system using the 7.12 driver.

When i uninstall the 7.12 driver do i also need to uninstall Microsoft C++ 2005? or just leave it alone. I have noticed that you have the option to install it when installing the new drivers.

Can anyone shed some light on this cos it doing me head in.

Strange mate, take a look at the system in my sig, that runs fine with the 8.12s. I have noticed that on the timedemo the first run is aways slower than the rest, as it has precahed everything - hmmm maby 4gb ram would help here?

..i did a google search and there's loads of people with the same problem. It's the advert/main menu that really lags, the game plays fine.

Lets hope ATI fix this problem in their next driver.

no does the same for me and i have 4gb... i think it precaheds into the card memory...
