My Pc started to beep 8 times.

Everything works, temps are fine and it boots to windows. Beeps happen at random approx 30 min to 1 HR apart.

PC specs in signature.

It's driving me nuts. At first I thought it was coming from our car or digital clocks in the house but as soon as I turn my pc off the beeping stops.

Doesn't seem to come from the speaker either as that is a lot louder...

How old is your motherboard? Have you had it forget any settings lately? (asking because of failing battery)

Was there anything that happened with your PC before it started?

Nothing changed, updated chipset drivers last week.

Motherboard is 4 years old.

Switched the PC off at the power supply for 10 seconds. 20 minutes in so far no beeps :D

Edit: 24hrs No more beeping. Just hope whatever it was is not a sign of hardware failure

Google search suggested a GPU memory issue...

8 beeps indicates there may be a problem with gpu video ram or it could be a motherboard problem, so i would start there, install your old gpu and see if the beeps go away, if they do try updating your bios and install the 7800xt again and see, if the beeps return after a bios update with the 7800xt i would suspect that the motherbboard may be on the way out and suggest you look for a replacment.

You could try the 7800xt in another pc to see if it acts weird in anyway just to rule out a bad gpu
