and in she goes, like the backplate on this card. There is an LED light on it which makes the card glow :)

The graphics card spins backwards at the point where you turn on the pc...this enables the fans to spin the dust off them and self clean...cool or what

Drives in and it's almost built - SSD is tucked away behind the case panel

IT'S ALIVE!!!! First time too :p

The CPU was overclocked to 4.4. I had it at 4.5 but it failed a PRIME95 stress test after 5 and a bit hours so I rolled it back a notch. Temps under full load were 55-57 degrees. The cooler does a great job and the cool air being sucked in from the back of the case keep things nice and cool.

The graphics card was overclocked to 1150Mhz. I ran heaven benchmarks and even under full load the card didn't go above 70 degrees. This overclock nudges the card towards a stock 7970....certainly faster than a 7950 AMD card.

This shows a stock 270x card against the boost edition of the 7950 and they are neck and neck. With the overclock I put on it, it'll blast past the 7950 card no problems.

System is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with all updates and service packs as of 5th Jan 2014.

Side gadgets include cpu meter and core temp - these monitor cores and tell you how hot they are and what % of load they are under.

Next build is a £2k one so should be fun :) Thanks for reading :)

Nice job :D
There is no better feeing spending all that time building it etc and it powers on first time
I did a recent build, took hours putting it together, cable management for it to turn out i had a DOA motherboard (gigabyte matx sniper)

Build looks good mate, but did you know the fans on the H80i are potentially the wrong way round?

Ideally, you want them to exhaust the air from inside the case!

+1 You can see the arrows on the fan shroud.

Why would you want to suck cool air in, heat it up with your H80i rad and then blow it into your case to heat the rest of your components?

Hot air off the rads is always blown OUT of the case.

On my Corsair H110 the instructions clearly state: "For the best cooling performance we recommend mounting the fans as an air intake".

That's probably why...;)

Its pretty obvious that the coolest air is outside the case so drawing external air in will be best for the water cooler....... BUT worse for all air cooled devices in the case. Pretty strange setup IMO.

What exhaust fans does he have? I'm guessing the front panel is intake:confused:

There is the airflow designed to go?

So the CPU is nice and chilly, but that GPU is not a blower type either so will just heat up the case even more. Not great from what i can see.
