8 core for the offing

Yeah OCUK are selling the boards now, but the reality is they use FD-DIMMS instead of normal DDR2/3 ram and other than the cost that cuts back on performance. Big waste of money imo

Read as damn expensive, Xeon based Extreme Processors, FB-DIMM 800MHz, they certainly don't expect them to be replacing your Yorkfield Quads and DDR3 as mainstream enthusiats.

There will be some people that buy them and fair play if thats what they want, but vastly expensive for what it delivers.

Skulltrail is pretty old news now tbh.

whilst for most people the price is over the top, there are ways to justify it. For example a skulltrail board with two xeon e5430 will cost the same as a single 9770, and changing the xeons fsb to 1600 will give you eight 3.2ghz cores and a class leading motherboard for the same price as four 3.2ghz cores.

one of these with a decent graphics card would handle Crysis (I hope):

no, because Crysis doesn't benefit very much from SLI at all, and has very very low CPU usage. the game is entirely graphics bound, and i think that we won't see any improvements on that untill the Geforce10 series is with us.
