Hello,

I have built a new computer (10900K, Maximus Hero XII and 8Pack 32 GB 4000 MHZ memory (MY-096-TG)). This is the exact same memory that is being sold as upgrade kit. I have inquired with CS prior to buying it querying that the CPU, according to intels own ark page, cannot handle these speeds. I was advised this was not the case and it would. Well, I built the thing and:

1. Bios only posts 2400 MHZ

2. CPU ID shows 1200 MHZ and AI Suite shows a maximum of 2400

What am I missing?

Thanks guys. This was extremely helpful and I have activated XMP within Bios. This prompted 4000 Mhz in Bios and 2000 Mhz in CPU ID. That is not where it ended though. I have since had multiple game crashes and several BSODs (IRQL not less or equal). I have run Memtest which has found multiple errors and then quickly resulted in another BSOD (memory management). I have now reverted to to auto settings (in effect slowed the RAM down to 2400 again) and am currently running memtest again.

As for my setup:
Asus Maximus Hero XII
I9 10900K
Team Group Xtreem "8Pack Edition" 32GB (4x8GB)
Seasonic Focus GX 850
NZXT Kraken Z63
MSI Gaming Trio X 3070

Essentially I am running the same hardware as an overclocked bundle Overclockers used to sell. I had questioned compatibility prior to purchasing over the phone but was told it would not be an issue.

Am I just the worlds most inept person or have I run into an issue here folks?
