hey 8 pack i got 8 gig of the 2800mhz plats and on this sabertooth Z77 board it will do the below, any surgestions on what i might try next. the thing is the next feq up from 2275mhz is 2475mhz, i could reduce the blk back to 100 from 103 but even that 3 on the blk gives me a nice gain. it might even be the IMC not liking tighter timings at 2475mhz what do you think?

ok ive done some testing and the fastest is 2275 at 9.11.10.22 1T

this board will boot 2475 but only at 11.12.11.32 2T

IBT pass at both but its faster at 9.11.10.22. 1T 2275mhz

it might be the board, its not a rog board, but my next one will be

Firstly we need to test the top clocks of the IMC of the Chip. This is diffcult though when you dont have post display. Set XMP and try boot 2800, 2666,2600 etc etc Once you have found your top frequency then we tune to that. I have those sticks here and infact have been testing them this weekend so know exactly what they are capable of at 2600+ 2475 is a grey area really 2500 is usually C9.

first off 8 pack thanks for the help!

it would not boot at 2600mhz very close but would frezze up on windows start up at these timings, on 10.13.12.25 1T again it would freeze in windows, so i went back and entered the 10.12.11.25.1T timings at 2400mhz increased blk to 103 which gave me 2475mhz so nearly 2500mhz but the speed improvement with 103 blk is greater! it wont run 2800 at all at XMP or 2600 xmp

but iam pleased with it so far, also tomorow i will be fitting my new PSU a corsair AX1200i so it might help!

cheers! 8 pack u the man!

also just as a thing of note, the time taken to run IBT is still faster with 9.11.10.22 1T at 2275mhz by 2 sec's 137.28 against 139.28 so is it speed or bandwidth thats best?

What was the top IMC frequency?? No 2600?? Tune the seconds now. So go seconds 5,auto,96,10,6,26,6,5,7

no go at 2666mhz and i just tried the go seconds 5,auto,96,10,6,26,6,5,7 at 2475mhz and again no post!

and no post! perhaps mate its the sabertooth board, not in ROG leauge i guess

Sabrtooth is just regular board with bells and whistles yes. Nothing of real substance sadly. Especially not in bios support. Its decent yes but not all the overclocking tweaks found on ROG.

Try all the seconds I gave you but TRFC at auto instead on 96 and TWL at 8 instead of 7.

For 2600mhz go 11-13-12-28 1T with the seconds I suggest above.

What VCCSA you at?? I take it your tuning IMC volts all the time??? trying 1.15-1.2v for stability at High DRAM clocks. Also try 1.65v-1.7 PLL or 1.9-1.95v PLL.

I have just picked an average 4.6ghz Capable 3770K CPU and done a 2600 mhz profile for this RAM. Which was Prime Stable with 1,65v DIMM and 1.075 IMC. I will post you up the screen shot tomorrow as I have stuff to finish today before I leave. It has all sub timings on it :)

No Probs mate. Protein shakes it is. I will do a Haswell profile too, infact I have one. These sticks do well on air with strong IMC.

Here you go. Not particularly tuned because IMC was poor!!! All IMC shoul be able to get close to this.

hey 8 pack, thanks man. this is where iam at

VCCSA 1.1v 1.8v PLL 104 blk now the timings, iam rock stable at 2500mhz but at 10.12.11.25. 1T will boot at your above timings no problem, but i have found this to be a sweeter set performance wise. I have also fitted my new corsair AX1200i psu. I have all the profiles saved in bios so i can bench till my hearts content.

what shakes do you like? will get some heading your way!

Now iam gona see if i can make 5g on the cpu. thanks for the help, u the man.

I might go haswell, but will see how they perform if not ROG X79 3930k will be my next move.

hey let me know what shakes k

cheers!

Nah man your ok. I am paid to help thanks for the offer though. Those dimms are good at -100 too!!! C9 2800+ 9-13-12-25 1T

Try at 2500 TWL 7 and TRRSR at 5. Both will give you more perf.
