Hi All

Picked up the 3600 C16 8-Pack kit not too long ago and I'm very happy. Problem is that I now have a dilemma of whether or not to buy a second kit for the currently unnecessary 32gb of RAM. My concern is that in a year or two when the new console generation pushes memory demand beyond 16GB on the PC side (probably) I won't be able to get the identical kit anymore.

Convince me?

Hi there

Well unless something fundamentally changes, like DDR5 comes in 2020 or Samsung stop producing B-die our plans are to keep selling that kit throughout 2020. :)

Samsung stop producing B-die

i hear a rummer that samsung had stopped and started a different type?

From anandtech
According to Samsung’s most recent Product Guide, the company will EOL its B-die 8 Gb memory chips in Q2 2019. It is not particularly clear when exactly Samsung ceases to make its legendary memory chips, but it looks like it is time for companies like Corsair or G.Skill to stock pile B-die ICs for existing DDR4-4000 and faster kits.

It will be the Gpu vram that probably need to be increased before system ram.
I doubt you will need more than 16gb of system ram for gaming for atleast 5 years.
