Its two extra commons, black. No extra 12v power. It's all about 'rating', different plugs are rated at continuous loads and temps. The 6 pin is rated at 75W, the 8 pin is 150W. The current carrying capacity is exactly the same. From reading up on it, people are saying that it's 2 extra ground's, but other places are saying that it's 1x 12vDC and 1x ground, because the wire has 4x yellow cables and 4x black which indicates another 12vDC, instead fo 3 yellow and 5 black which would mean 2 ground.
