Hello there, long time browser, quiet chap here.

Over the past few months I've been rebuilding/upgrading my main system (specs listed below if you want to see: )
Before upgrade:
CPU: AMD Phenom ii x4 955 3.2Ghz (OC'd to 3.6),
GPU: Asus Directcu ii GTX 560ti 1GB,
Motherboard: 990XA-GD55,
RAM: 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz,
HD's: 1TB Western Digital Green,
PSU: XFX Pro 550w
Cooling: 2x 92mm, 2x 120mm Arctic cooling fans, Corsair H80i.
Case: Generic ATX Barebones case from about 6 years ago.

After:
CPU: AMD FX8350 4.2Ghz (OC'd to 4.6),
GPU: Gainward Phantom GTX770 4GB
Motherboard: Crosshair V Formula-Z
RAM: 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz,
HD's: Samsung Evo 256gb SSD, OCZ Vertex 128gb SSD, 1TB Western Digital Green,
PSU: XFX Pro 750w Semi Modular,
Cooling: 2x 140mm Silent Series R2, 3x 140mm Arctic Cooling, 3x Gelid Silent 4,
Case: Fractal Define Design R4 Black.

Edit: Oh and yes, that is a bit of bent plastic taped/screwed to the side of my Phantom, it's preventing my side fan causing a air block on the side exhaust of the GPU, and has decreased GPU temps by a few C when it's run hard.
I have just ordered a EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Classified 4GB to run in SLI with my GTX770 in preparation for Star Citizen. My problem regards power delivery. My XFX Pro 750w PSU has two wired in 8 pins that are already in use, and two 8 pin modular sockets where I can plug the two supplied cables into, however due to me having fitted another 14cm fan in the bottom of the case to feed the new GTX770's blower fan, I have blocked access to the lower port.

Would there be a problem with me using a 8 pin splitter cable to run my 2nd GPU solely off the top 8 pin connector? Something like this:

If not I'll have to just run without the bottom fan, however I would really like to have one fitted.

Pictures showing the problem are listed below:

Oh and with regards to the 4 6pin PCIe modular connectors coming out of the PSU at the moment, I have ordered a few cables to allow me to run my 2 SSD's, HDD and front panel screen from one, so airflow won't be as restricted.
Many thanks,
Bullet5.

Id personally just remove the bottom fan, your case looks as if it has good front air intake which will be blowing into the cards. You could also add an antec spotcool fan behind the cards later to help with cooling.

Thank you for the response, in that case I'll remove the fan for the time being, but may end up giving the splitter a go if the card temps are a little high under stress. Would the extra amps running through a single socket (if I opted to test a splitter further down the line) be an issue?

Thanks again,
Bullet5.
