I had a problem with my Motherboard on Friday so I picked up a replacement (different make). Just swapped over all the bits and on final stage on rebuild found that the new MB had a 4 pin 12V connector where my old on had an 8 pin.

Problem is the Coolermaster 1000W Modular PSU only came with 8 Pin leads and not 4 pin. What is my best choice ? is there a 8 pin to 4 pin converter ?

Alternatively as I really need the machine working again ASAP is there any way of using my 8 pin connector on the 4 pin ?

Thanks, hope someone can help

I had the same issue, it's only when I undid my neatly wrapped cables I found that corsair had provided a second cable with a 4 pin plug..

there things can be annoying at times. I had to cut mine up to make it but don't do this unless you know what you are doing!

Now I feel stupid, the PSU in the link Ghost posted was not mine, mine is the modular version. However when I saw the picture it got me think about the cables.. so I dug out the computer and looked in the case again...

When I originally built the machine I didn't have a use for a 4 pin cable so I tucked it in the ridge running along the top of the case out of site... guess what, it was still there, dohh :)

Can't believe I forgot about that, anyway plugged it in, all worked fine.

Cheers guys
