I want to buy a graphics card but dont know the best one to get
I have been looking at the 256MB ATI SAPPHIRE RADEON X800GTO2
Also looking at the 512MB ATI ASUS EAX1600PRO CROSSFIRE
Really i just want a good performance card that can play most games with ease. currently i have ati xpress200 onboard graphics which is rubbish and cant handle most games like the new hitman whith all settings on low just staggers trough the game and is unplayable

Even though 1 has 512mb and the other has 256mb?
also this one looks handy
256MB NVIDIA BFG GF 7600GT OVCLOCKED SLI

Memory size means nothing on a slow graphics card, it's just marketing designed to make crappy cards more erm... marketable. :D

The BFG 7600GT looks liike a good choice.;)

I tell you what is a good bet in that region, the X1800GTO. From the reports i've seen they look like they can get up to X1800XT speeds if the last quad unlocks. But they are a bit above your range I think.

As other have said the 7600gt is very good and can overclock to 7800gt speeds (with the help of a simple mod).

what kind of psu would these cards need 2 run? as when i bought my pc
it only had a 300w psu

this is my setup so far

windows xp home sp2
amd skt939 athlon64 3000+
pc3200 512mb ram
160gb Hdrive
ati xpress200

i wanted to get Graphics card another 512mb ram stick i will have 2 stick a psu on there aswell or would i get away with it for a few weeks and if not
what price range are they? thankyou for the help so far ;)

leadtek 7600GT, pretty much identical ability to the BFG, £13 or something cheaper, or like one of the dudes above said X1800GTO...the HIS excalibur one, read review of one of those doing 700+Mhz on core and memory, 9600 in 3D mark 05 for those who like to know those scores
