Hi guys, Im getting 80 Degrees In idle, With Thermaltake ND5 Cooler, also tryed the stock cooler and got the same. I have the thermal pads of the memory and theres a very thin layer on artic 5 on the core

Why and my temps sooo high ! ?

Really worried now !

Hmm, should be high 50's or low 60's idle, the ram pads are bad IMO, never have liked them since 6800Ultra, you may need apply TIM thicker to get contact on core as of rampads, please make sure you have by applying some and screwing down then immed removing to see imprint covers all the IHS area, it may have little to no contact.

That is definitely too high. Mine is currently idling at 55c. What happens if you crank the fan up to 100%.

Fan is at 100% With extra cooler on the other side.

Ive turned of the aero and i has gone down 4 degrees ..

Still way tooo high!

hm my gtx is idling at 49/50 at the moment so i would say 80 is way to hot. Must be getting near 100 load.

Tried reseating the cooler, and or checking case cooling.

Ive got it down to 70-71 degrees idle

Still mega hot but i dont see no slow down in games etc

Btw im living in spain and room temp is 30 degress  spose that could help to heat

Jay!

whats your load temp?

Mines is idling 63-65 due to the heat and my room size booooo! Load doesnt go over 78 though so I know its fine. anyways its getting packed away to a new home tomorrow!

96 = Buuuuurrrrnnnnnnn.

Well not quite but damn close to melting something. Have you reseated the cooler and made sure there is good contact like said above?

chill out man, have a google, "8800gtx high temps", loads of people have this card running at high temps even idle, my gpu is @ 70c atm idle, these cards can handle high temps fine, as long as you don't see any artifacting then don't worry.

Mines idling at 56 at the mo, when its a very warm day it can go as high as 62 idle, probably get that high today as its red hot, and its not been on long. :D

he said 89c to 96c, 96c being the top end, and for 30c in spain no I don't think it's that bad tbh, I think the maximum temp before shutdown is 127c so it's within specs.

Lol.. and people say the 2900XT runs hot.

mine's is o/ced at 690/1110 and is still about 56 oC idle and never goes over 75 oC under load....i think

Well he obv has a issue as thats hotter than normal, he could have airflow issue or a poorly applied goo on core (they always are poor) or many aspects.

When I first took the cooler off my 8800 the goo wasnt well spread at all :(

I'd RMA it before ,over time, the excessive heat kills it.

Sods law dictates this will happen just after the warranty has expired. ;)
