80 Gig PS3 UK

ive got a 120gb PS3

just buy a fully functional 60gb PS3 (with nothing cut out) then straight away exchange the disk (a generic laptop sata disk) for the biggest you can afford and sell the 60 on ebay

the only reason an 80gb PS3 will come out, is once the 60gb disk supply drys up, which is going to happen soon as bigger and bigger sata disks become the norm

I read somewhere that they dropped BC on the 80gb the same as they have on the 40gb...

(which is one the main reasons why i bought a 60gb before they were sold out)
This is wrong.

The only 80gb model on sale is in America and uses software BC (same as our 60gb model).

There's no official word on a UK 80gb model yet, though when it is released it will most likely be fully featured i.e. BC, 4 USB ports, card readers.

However, since Sony have already released a model w/o BC, it's not entirely impossible that future models may not have it.

The drop in BC you're referring to will be from the old 60gb US models originally having full hardware BC, to the 80gb model which now uses software BC.
