Will be a long time before they make it into the 'mainstream' PSU's if at all.

Probably but I hope not, its about time we had one that shows great levels of efficiency at 100% and 5% power draw.

Noticed recently some gold psus getting shorter warranty, implying they're not as gold as they used to be.
Platinum is the new gold?

I wouldnt think so, but naturally it will feel like that when there's a new top tier

It's absolutely minimal real world progress the consumer will not notice/benefit from but upsold for diminishing returns, it's BS. In a less cynical world years ago, these "improvements" would simply have been obsorbed into a product line - not upsold as a different model at a premium price to gullible fools.

Not really something I take into consideration these days.
