Hi all,

a friend of mine wants to change his PC, he is looking for a gaming rig.
He needs:
1) Motherboard
2) CPU
3) GPU
4) PSU
5) RAM

I have some ideas but in my opinion is always best to confront with different people and since here is plenty of experts :-) please go ahead and blow my mind out !!!

Will be nice to fit in a nice GPU 770/280 and above... if we manage to

Thank you very much in advance!

Why a Micro-Atx board?

Why a Micro-Atx board?
+ 280X > 780 IMO.

More personal taste than anything really (I have no real need for more than one or two PCI-E slots, or extreme overclocking). That MSI Micro-ATX has pretty much the same chipset (if not identical and just named differently as the "Z87 Express") to the Z87-G43 ATX board but it has debug leds that the other is missing, which are a nice touch imo (the Sniper ATX has them too for the same price, plus better sound, but I'm not fussy about sound and have a slight bias for MSI boards). Good reviews as well.

280X > 780? Yeah, better value per pound if that's what you mean, but the OP was wondering about "above". :)

If not going xfire/sli or not doing tasks that require the extra threads better off going for the 4670k, save £10 ang get the msi 290 gaming. Also haswell likes faster ram.

Thank you very much all!
