Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!

I'm going to be buying and building my first gaming PC and I need an experienced PC builder to help me choose the components for it. As the thread title states my budget is about £800 and I want the best PC that I can get for that amount of money, so that I can play all of the best games to a good level.

I would like an SSD to boot the OS from and the HDD to be 1TB in size. The OS will be bought separately so it doesn't need to be included in the £800 build and I want the PC to have at least 8GB of RAM. Also I would like a DVD±RW SATA ReWriter as well.

Thanks.

Do you need a monitor, keyboard and mouse too?

Will this be upgraded over time or just fully replaced when it hits the wall? (No shame in the later, it'll just help speccers decide whether Xfire/SLI compatiblity is important or not).

Will you be overclocking at all?

Thanks for your reply, no sorry I should have mentioned that I don't need a monitor and I'll be buying a new keyboard an mouse separately. Yeah, I'll want to upgrade certain parts over time. No I won't be overclocking it.

Thanks for the build suggestion, I've just got one question with the build that you suggested, would it need any extra cooling fans or is it ok as it is?

No worries,

The case comes with 2 fans pre-installed, one front, one rear.. So no need for any more.

The CPU comes with a stock cooler, which is okay for running the CPU at stock but you can add a cheaper aftermarket cooler, such as the Themis to improve temps/noise (for £20).. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-001-RT

Seems you have extra left over doesn't it make sense to upgrade the CPU to the 4690 for the extra £30 : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-532-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=567

Both are very little gains for the money.
