Hi all

my friend is following my recent foray back in to the world of PC and gaming by looking at building a new PC. I was hoping that you guys could pass some suggestions this way and help him empty is filled Xmas wallet!

basic requirements are below and he is adamant about Intel and NVidia.

Intel Cpu
Nvidia GPU
SSD
Monitor
windows

look forward to your suggestions as my build has turned out to be excellent following the advice on here!

thanks in advance

thanks for the replies.

It seems that the Intel/NVidia route are going to push above budget if you include the monitor. think he might have to push the budget up to £900 to get what he wants!

thanks all for the replies, its taken me a while for my friend to work with me on this. Unfortunately I have tried to get him to go AMD, but he wants Nvidia so have chosen a 760 for him. Kept the CPU strong as it should last a few years given what people have been saying and allows upgrades for the GPU later.

I've come up with this for him, and wondered if anyone can maybe improve on it? Savings on the RAM for example, different GPU, maybe a better monitor for the price? it will be used for gaming mainly.

thanks again for the help!

Thanks again for the responses!

Danny75 good point about the 960.... would this be a better card than the 760 given its supposed limitations of hardware...?

Shivy - good suggestion especially as there wouldn't be any point getting a K chip with no OC going on :D

Stulid - what case can you suggest? The one in my list was just cheap, looked good and well was cheap! I've got a Corsair Carbide 200r which is great but a bit more expensive... probably wouldn't want to go much more than that.

so after soaking up the suggestions I've got to this :) I went for the Themis cooler as I've got my i5 running at 4.4 no problems at all with it on so thought the extra £5 would be well spent :D I'll get him some fans as a present lol

I was just going by the one on OC by the user, didn't look much further than that. More than happy to take your advice however as my build is based on it, poached from another post :)
