Hi, so my friend wants to get a decent Gaming/ Work Pc for when he goes Uni. He has said that he has around £800 for just the tower and windows. I was wondering if you guys could help spec him a build.

The NZXT case has no external drive bays, so if he cant install windows via USB thumb drive, he will have to use a USB DVD drive or something.


Or if he downloads and uses the Win10 technical preview for a bit he can get a better GFX card.

Just throwing this out there, if you go for the last build and using win 10 maybe this card instead?

How does the R9 290x compare to the gtx 970?

It slightly beats it (but game dependant, some favour nvidia and some AMD) but is hotter and consumes more power.
