Hey all,

My uncles been out of the loop for a while when it comes to PC building, last time he built a rig socket 939 was prominent and he wants to build a rig for some gaming mostly fps titles (unsure if he wants 1080p or 1440p but itll most likely be 1080p), 4k movie playback on tv and general day to day usage. Wants to spend around 800 quid for the rig itself (doesn't mind if it's a little bit over if it'll benefit performance), he's read a little bit into ryzen but he's not bothered if it's intel, would like an ssd but that doesn't need to be large, isn't concerned about rgbs or aesthetics as it'll be hidden away and isn't interested in overclocking. He'll also most likely be building in January if thats any relevance.

With all that in mind the rig I came up with is a Ryzen 5 1500x, MSI B350M, 2X8GB GSkill Ripjaws 3000mhz, Team L5 Lite 120GB SSD, 1TB WD Caviar Blue HDD, EVGA 1060 6GB, EVGA 500W Bronze PSU and a Thermaltake Versa H21 which comes in at 801 quid. I feel like thats a fairly balanced midrange rig but if going the intel route would offer better price to performance then I'm all ears.

Any ideas advice input etc is appreciated, cheers.
