Hey guys. Looking to get back into gaming and to build up a new PC after a year of not having one, woundered what my money could buy.

It's mainly for gaming, although I'm not interested in high/ultra graphics as I'm competivive and FPS means more to me than eye candy - so a decent GFX card will suffice for now.

I do have an old MX518 and Diamondback 3G spare, although loved my Deathadder when I had it. So a mouse insn't needed unless theres a decent one now worth the price.

So what I need mainly is the base unit, 24" monitor and headphones. Maybe a soundcard for the Virtual surround I was used to on my Audigy?

Also, is it worth overclocking anymore? Last PC i had an i5-760 @ 4.2ghz without problems.

All help is appreciated.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply Stulid. Apperance doesnt bother me. Both systems looks great. 2nd seems good as it gives me an SSD.

Which would you go with?

Is it worth getting the Asus soundcard at £20 also?

Try the onboard and see what you think of the sound.

I would get the 280X one as the card is just that bit better.

Hi Stulid, I can push the budget to £900. What would you recommend changing/adding?

Maybe a better cooler or SSD or better PSU? Thinking of going with the first build.

Thanks.

Misjah - thanks for the build, but i dont think 1 128GB SSD will suffice.
