Might be going back to pc again after using a laptop.

Dnt need windows 10, spec needs to come with min. 24 inch screen. Only interested in ssd no need for hdd. I was amd fan boy before getting the laptop use to love my 8350fx. Just want a long term good gaming pc as i may be moving to a bigger house soon. Nice case. Gpu that will last me years min of 2/3 years of gaming same for the cpu.

Just really curious wether £800 is enough and whats the best i can get or if i need to save more.

You can get a decent PC for a similar price to your budget, but you'll have to consider the components carefully. I always check OCUK's clearance section and I have bought a lot of items from there.

The Intel CPUs are better performance for your money right now, but you don't need an i7, so get an i5. An i3 has higher clock speeds, but less cores, so can be much better value, depending on what you intend to do. A £100 i3 can be upgraded to a £200 i5 later, if needed.

You don't need a motherboard with bells and whistles unless you are going to use them, so find a well-priced one.

I'd look at a RX 480 or 1060 as the best bang per buck.

You can pick up 256 GB SSDs for a good price. You can add another SSD or HDD later, if needed. I got a 30GB SSD second hand for £20, which is my OS drive.

Monitors are a personal choice, as are mice and keyboards.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £790.91
(includes shipping: £0.00)

I would keep a watch out on graphics cards for now though and see if they come back down. My card on here last month was around £150 and now its up to £199, the 4gb RX 480 was about 10 quid cheaper the other day so the prices seem a little more volatile than usual at the moment.

The H110 chipset motherboards only have 2 RAM slots, so I'd recommend getting a better chipset or getting 2 x 8GB at the start. The list below doesn't include case, PSU, monitor or peripherals, but allows you to compare between the two lists. You'll note that they have a lot in common. :-)

I stopped using aftermarket coolers a number of years ago and my i5 4670K runs happily at 4.0 GHz on the Intel OEM one. If you do buy an aftermarket cooler, then get an OEM CPU rather than retail, which should save another £20.

Very nice build there.

Has there been any new amd cpus out recently? I use to love my 8350 back in 2014...

I7 not worth getting if mainly just for gaming? Or just out of budget range?

At the moment, most games don't use hyper-threading and most people mistakenly think it is 2 cores, which it isn't. i.e. It isn't worth the money unless you have cash to burn.

AMD will be releasing their new Zen CPU soon, which could be VERY interesting. So, if you can afford to wait, I would. Both for the Zen CPU and to see what happens when the RX 490 is released.

Thats out of his budget though lol. And there is no stock cooler with a K Intel CPU

I was curious what £800 would get me now but im not gonna build one for a lil while now not until ive moved into the new house and sorted stuff out.

Any ideas when this zen cpu will be out?

Show me where it says retail K CPUs don't have a cooler, as mine came with one.

I am offering ideas, not just saying what to buy. Plus most people will spend a little extra if they can justify the benefit, such as 16GB of RAM Vs 8GB for only £25 extra.

1st quarter of 2017 by the looks of it. 800 will get you a solid PC though and Im sure that wont change if you wait for the Zens to launch.

Trust me, You wont get a stock cooler with a 6600k. They stopped boxing K CPU's with heatsinks when they launched Skylake.
