I'm fairly out of the loop with the way tech has gone. My current PC is still fairly new ~18 months but is having a ton of problems and with one hardware problem after another I want to scrap it (mostly) and go new.
I have no brand loyalties. PC will mostly be used strenuously for gaming, with some usual standard PC use on the side. I'd like at least 2GB of storage, and I'm considering a SSD (I use some fairly large postresql databases) but I have no idea if I'll get it on my budget.
I have a DVDrw, all periphials including monitor and an OS. I also have an antec 900 case and a decent modular PSU that I think I can reuse.
