Hey all,
i have now braided as much as i can so its time to order my WC Components, but before i do i want to know if my design is going to work, and if there is a better option in mind.

I already have - Swiftech MCP655, Thermochill PA120.3 (albeit with 25mm spacing, ill drill and re-tap) and a DangerDen Tline fillport.

The Thermochill RAD is a little on the large (deep) side for double fans so IF it is worth me changing it for a slimmer rad i will do.

My hardware :
2600K
Asus P67 Pro
1x GTX570 with another one coming soon.

I want this to look as neat as i can, i am bored of clutter and tubing here there and everywhere.

This layout is the most efficient i could plan but i am open to change if needed.

KEY :) :
1 - Pump
2- CPU Block - likely to be an EK Sup
3- Thermochill 120.3
4- EK 570 Full block
5- not present, but. EK 570 Full block
6 - 120.2 RAD - to be bought
7- RES - to be decided what one
8- Undecided Fill Port - might not be worth having this
9- Undecided quick release valve for draining.

Thanks.

Just to let you know the thermochill 120.2 rad will not fit on its side like that in the bottom compartment without some pretty major modding. Some other rads might but not the thermochill.

Taking out the recess in the top and putting in a grill instead will give you enough space to push pull fans on the top thermochill rad. You will alos benefit if you can find a 25mm spacing rad grill (getting thin on the ground but still available)

1. Having a D5 directly under the res, as in your diagram, will mean that it gets in the way of the hot-swap bay cover. It will not sit directly under the res and will look a bit naff - I'm speaking from experience here (the D5 is deceptively bulky). I'd advise adding a pump kit to reduce its footprint. The EK X-top is excellent. A Bitspower D5 kit will also do the trick and they look smaller than the EK one.

2. CPU block is a great choice.

3. Source a 15mm PA120.3 and save the hassle of drilling more holes in your case.

4&5. Fine.

6. I can also confirm that a PA120.2 won't fit on its side in the 800D. In fact the 120.2 is unnecessary and will add clutter and needless tubing to your loop. A PA120.3 will easily handle CPU + SLI.

7. The best tubular res I've ever used is the Alphacool Cape Corp Coolplex Pro 25. It has a long inner stencil which makes bleeding a breeze and the threads are machined to a much higher standard than on EK reservoirs, they seem to take all different brands of G1/4" barbs and compressions and never leak, unlike EK res'. The Alphacool also has 3 inlets/outlets on the bottom so you can add a drain port and valve if you want.

8. Fill Port? Pointless IMO. Unscrew the top of your res and fill. Screw back on. Job done.

9. Undecided quick release valve for draining? Do it. The grommets on the 800D mid plate are perfect for routing a drain valve into the bottom of the case.

Thanks for all of your input, i think i will stick to a single rad for now then.

I will not need to drill anything in my case, i will re-drill the rad

couple of tips, use proper plastic hoseclips not wire ties on hose, set all your top rad fans pulling cool air into the case and have 1 rear fan pulling hot air out the back.

also zoomee's pump and top combo is allot neater its got a cap in the top to fill it up them orange platic clips though i'd get in black ;)

i have exact same setup as his except i have a 120.1 in the rear between the vga and cpu to dump a bit of heat off the cpu before it gets to the vga and to pull hot air out the back ( i have the fan mounted outside on the rear so still loads of room.

You don't need to redrill your rad for the 15mm hole spacing, just support the rad by one fan only, the centre one. The other two fans just screw into the case but not the rad. One fan will hold the rad up no problem.

I have two loops almost identical to this actaully, but it took a lot.. and i mean .... A LOT! of modding :P

All good fun tho ....not.

could have been a lot tidier though...

thanks guys, i wasn't sure that there would be enough exhaust pull fans as there would be a fair bit of airflow in the case etc.

I wont be using ANY clips, ill be 3/8 bard and 7/16th tubing, i hate clips. I also may use the Bitspower gear, i have never used any fittings in any of my other builds though, i think by using them you can get a neater look.
