802.11ac NIC's

Was just wondering, when Apple start to introduce these particular NIC's into their MBP's, will it something could be upgraded either at home or via apple store. I would be looking to do so on my 2012 if possible (non retina)

Nope, you will have to buy a newer model to access the feature.

Chances are to do 802.11ac properly it requires the antenna design to change. If you just swapped the NICs you'd be unlikely to see it perform to the fullest.
