Hey, My brother has already got a pentium 4 805D and an ATI X800(PCIe)

He is wanting to overclock the processor obviously :p

I'm just wondering if you guys could help with completing his spec?

He needs a motherboard, RAM, Case, PSU and Cooling.

He's getting a BenQ dvd writer, The new one without lightscribe from else where.

He would like to see the processor hitting around 3.6ghz, I've told him thats probably the safest on air clock!? Obviously we'll speedfan and Prime to be sure :)

Just an after thought, Would it be possible getting a socket 775 mobo that supports conroe? That the 805D will work fine in now, And my brother could go conroe later?

Thanks for any help :)

OK, I've gone out an priced it up myself, After some research it looks to be a nice system

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £91.99
Tagan TG530-U15 530W ATX2.01 Modular Silent PSU £62.99
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit £119.99
Thermaltake VB1000BNS Soprano SuperMidi Tower £39.60
Scythe Miné Quiet Heatpipe CPU Cooler £22.95
AC-000-AC Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) £5.99

£403

Just wondering, How is the Geil RAM i have spec'd? I dont like seeing the word Value in anything. So it makes me wonder how good it is. Also the thermaltake soprano, will that allow for good airflow? or is it going to be cramped? Does anyone know if the Scythe will fit?

I think the Geil RAM will be fine, but you'd be better off with the PC6400 Low Latency stuff, if you can stretch to it.

I think you def have the right idea to get a DS3 mobo and some other nice components. It's all ready to have an Allendale dropped in there. In fact tbh if it were me, I'd sell the other stuff now and drop in an E6300 now ;) But otherwise I think ** spot on with your choices :)
