Hi,

Just wondering what case fans you guys are using. I need some 80mm ones for my system, wondering if I should bother spending a few extra quid and getting branded ones or not?

Don't need the colours or LED's. Just good performance and quiet!

Been lookin at the akas amber 80mm case fans, they have good reviews and are recommended it seems by lots of people so I'll order some of those!

I heard from different places that Antec fans are quite annoyingly noisy. But I've decided to go for Akasa.

4x Akasa Ambers on the way!! :D

Or go for a Arctic Cooling Arctic Fan 8L, 2 less CFM, and 11 less dBa than the Akasa..... virtualy silent, and vibration dampened to boot! Plus they use Fluid Dynamic Bearings rater than BBs, which if memeory serves are more reliable (6 yr waranty!) and quieter.

Only a few p more expensive too, and their 120mm line are VERY competitively priced!

You'll be happy with the Ambers. I have two old Lian-Li cases each with three 80mm Ambers and the difference over the original ADDA fans is staggering. The 120mm Ambers aren't nearly as good IME.

I agree 100% - these are probably the best fans on the market at the moment - espceially at the price being asked but anyone considering these should be aware they only blow in one direction. They cannot be turned over to reverse the airflow. In practise this makes them useless as intake fans in most current production enclosures.
