Few moments ago I stumbled upon this:

http://www.sparkle.com.tw/News/Calibre/P768/news_p768_en.html

A 7600GT based on 80nm tech. I wasn't sure whether the "80nm" was a typo so I googled it and indeed there's a "B1" revision of the 7600 G73 core which is 80nm. The fact that the above card is clocked in at 650mhz leads me to believe that this die shrink has resulted in a fair overclocking margin! :)

Anyone know whether any of the 7600GT's that OcUK sell, feature this 80nm G73-B1 core? :)

Cheers,

Mul

80nm!

I thought the 7600GT was a TSMC 80nm product as standard, and other 7***'s were on 90nm from this foundary.
That's why it was good value. Smaller die, more die on the wafer, and a test chip for this technology being simpler than other high end product in range.
And of course faster being smaller geometry, lower capacitance.

meh, my 7600gt is running 600 and 1600 anyway... rivatuners optimal settings is 662 and 873 (1760 effective). My cooling however probably wouldn't like that.
