Been searching for weeks but cannot seem to find anywhere that sells the type of wood paneling that was everywhere in the 80's, you know what I mean, brown, processes wood with wood grain effect, bout 3-5mm thick, often behind the VHS cassettes in video stores, on office walls, etc.

This must still be available somewhere...

Any help would be really appreciated (apart from help with my styling tastes :P)

Have a look down the local tip, or on the wall of a house up North.

You're not thinking of slatwall are you?

Could you not look at some really cheap flooring that looks the same?

You could even run a small router/plane down the edges to give the groove.

Out of interest...what is this for? Context required :)
Putting in some partitioning in a converted loft (to make it room shaped instead of tent shaped. Figured instead putting plasterboard on the frame and rendering/painting I could just put this stuff on the frame as I always liked the style. My dad had it on the (partition) walls in his office but sadly it got scrapped when he rebuilt the office in 2009.

the only thing to do with that stuff is put it in the fire - and even then it doesn't burn that well!
It's basically hardboard with a veneer, don't do it op

80s? Local club has that on all the walls and I have it on good authority that it was installed in the early 60s. :p

My folks had this stuff on the walls when I was growing up... Talk about a flashback :D :D

For me too! I remember it around the chimney breast!
