My local photography shop has some ex Jacobs UV filters for my Tamron 24-70 2.8 lens for £14 is it worth it? They have said normal cost is £60 when Jacobs was around.

This is what was written on the screen shot i took on my phone.

Jacobs 82mm UV MC Super Slim Filter
Ref: 1698403
Manufacturer Part No: J1030
UV filters serve as a permanent lens protector for your valuable lenses. They help protect your lens

These came up on Ebay not long after Jacobs went under, picked up a 77mm ND 6 filter for just over a £5, quality was good although I did notice a little drop in sharpness using it. Used it on Friday and managed to ruin it doing some wire wool shots, cant complain for £5 and it protected my 10-22 from being damaged.

well picked up a few UV filters Jacobs versions. Seems to have improved image quality over the box standard £5 filters that i have.
