8300 GS ?

Hi,

never post so much on here, but I lurk a lot as I know its an invaluable source of computer related information

Question - a friend of mine has been and bought one of these Advent PC's from ****** with the quad core and an 8300 GS (completely against my advice I might add, I was trying to price one up for him over the weekend and he gave in to his wife's moaning and got it from ***** instead).

I've been looking around and I can't seem to find anything about an 8300 GS, not even on Nvidia's website. I know its likely to be a poor card, but can anyone point me towards some specs for it as I'm really struggling. Plus I want to rub it in his face tomorrow when I show him "what he could have won"

It's a lot slower than an x1950 pro (way less than half the speed) which cost as little as £65.

Edit : after a bit more searching I've found that its similar to the 8400GS, in clock speeds..." The 8300 GS will "only" have 24 shaders, clocked around 400MHz. It will have up to 256MB of 128 bit memory, clocked at 1000MHz DDR"

Heh, I'm a gonna have me some fun tomorrow. He's bought this POS as a gaming machine !
