Ive been looking at a replacement fx cpu so I can put the 1090t back into my other tower for my son to use.
so my thoughts is going for another 8350 but a retail one this time but ive also spotted the 8370 for a tenner more.. whats the difference?

I know the Intel boys will jump on me to go to intel here but plan is to get the sabertooth running with an fx for now and then next year Ill start building an Intel system and my son can get my sabertooth and ill sell the 1090t system or use it in the workshop

8370 turbo's to 4.3Ghz compared to the 8350's 4.2Ghz plus a big price hike. I would probably go for a 8320/8320E and clock the nuts off it to be honest.

I'd agree with this, mine's gone past 5Ghz under water. If you need more power than that then you need an i7 :D

Ive been offered a sealed 8350 for a £100 so im tempted by this.
it was the 8350 I had before it died on me. I had it running at a stable 4.4 but never pushed it any further. over its last few months of life though it refused to go above the stock 4.0Ghz but I know it had been running at 5.0Ghz before I got it.
