Does this card have the full range of HD decoding as in H264 and VC-1? As because in the description it mentions only WMV HD and Mpeg2.

Thanks

I remember on the box for my 8600 the chart seemed to show the lower 8 series were more capable then the gtx, etc in that respect for some reason

The 8800 GTS (320/640) and GTX only have the same video decoding features as the GeForce 7 series - known as PureVideo 1.

The 8800 GT, 8800 GTS (512), 8600 GTS, 8600 GT, 8500 GT and 8400 GS all support PureVideo 2, the 8800 GT and GTS 512 to a greater extent.

The Radeon 2400 Pro, 2400 XT, 2600 Pro, 2600 XT, 3850 and 3870 cards all support the latest video decoding features from ATi, which if I remember correctly are more potent than the nVidia equivalent.

Edit:
The 2600 does better than the 8600 in VC-1 and they're almost equal with the 2600 a little in the lead in H.264

Edit again, it may be worth noting their image quality benchmark shows the 8 series cards to be superior and the 2400 to suffer.
