Just got one of these and did fresh Win7 x64 install. I took a lot of the drivers from the HP site but the built in camera won't work and doesn't show in device manager. HP support site has a "universal camera driver" which seems to install, but there's no software. If you install the other "Arcsoft" webcam software, the install fails saying it can't find any related hardware.

Any ideas?

EDIT: wait, just found HP webcam software. Trying that now :)

Double Edit: No, now it says "setup has determined that your configuration does not support any of the included products" :(

This may not be all that helpful, but I have the previous 8440P and when I did a clean install on that, I found that I didn't need the webcam software at all, just the driver. However that may very well not be the case with the 8460P.

It should show in device manager though, even if it's just as an unidentified device. I assume it worked alright on the factory install ?

Yeah. There was a recovery disk in the box and when you install from that, everything works. It also places a "Drivers" folder at the root of C:. I've copied that now and am just reinstalling 7 as we speak

I've got an 8440p as well - the webcam shows as a HP Webcam [2MP Macro] with Sonix as the driver provider in Device Manager. Can't remember if I had to find a driver when I rebuilt it with W7P x64 when I got it.
