~£850 gaming machine

The next step up in price is the 850w in what they sell.

Would a 700w 80+ PSU be likely to support 2 6970s? If not, I could probably go with the 600w that's on the machine by default anyway since there's not a lot of point spending more on a PSU that would need to be upgraded if I did go CF anyway.

Thats total system power draw using a more power hungry older Intel CPU etc.

Same here - http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1488/18/

So if I'm reading that right, the 700w 80+ should be (just) enough for CF assuming that it's fairly efficient? The max total draw on the anandtech benchmark is 601w in CF.

Edit: and you say that's with a more power hungry CPU than the i5 I'll be getting.

Thats right.

Yep, both tests use the socket1366 system, either a i7 970 or 920,

Bottom grpah shows 25watts less against a 920.

Awesome, thanks very much! Hopefully I'll be ordering today, so my next post will be the final specs (everything's still subject to change). :D

Last choice is what colour LED fan to put in, I know, I saved the most important choice for last, but I'm sure I can make this one on my own. ;)

That doesn't include postage or the fast build option they do, seems a good price to me but I'm no expert. With a certain purple people shop having screwed me over, I may be getting compensation at some point and I'll potentially be able to pick up another better case then, but not worrying about that now until it happens.

Thanks very much for all the help!! I really appreciate it!

Looks ok here, the case isnt on my favorite list but o'well, the core parts are solid and thats good:)

Oh dear, I had another look at my specs and tomorrow I'll be ringing them up again to change the case for a xigmatek utgard. I've banned myself from looking at other stuff now haha, computer should be with me weds, assuming I don't keep changing my mind.

Thanks again for all the help. It's way more than I originally set out to spend but it should be good and last well with the quick option of CF if I feel it needs an upgrade. I really appreciate all the advice and tips. :)

Ha, the temptation is getting to you:D

I'm holding you responsible, those comments about the case made me do it, 'onest m'lud! Haha. Does the new one receive your approval? ;) It seems to get good reviews.

I just thought that this is probably gonna have to last me a while, I would've probably picked up a new case at some point anyway but if I did that, I'd have to take apart the PC which seems daft when I'm paying a premium (in time and money) to have it put together anyway.

Plus since I'll be running an OC'd system, I was considering a couple more fans for the original case, getting this case saves me the bother.
