8500 EO and PQ5-E Noob O/C help please

I have the above and some dominator ram, complete noob to o/c, ideally want to get it to 3.6

Does anyone have some basic settings i can change please

you should be able reach 3.8 or 4.0 easily. what speed is the speed of your ram? I'm not at home atm or i would give you my bios setting. I still remember few settings hehe

fsb=400
ram speed=1066mhz
vcore voltage= 1.30

from memory it's dominator 1066 4mb

i changed the fsb to 400 last night and put the cpu volts to 1.25 , thtat seemed to give me 3.6, was that the right thing to do?

My 8500 on a PQ5-Pro O/C'd to 3.6 easily enough just using the Asus AI suite software. Had to tinker a bit with FSB and cpu volts to get it stable and with half decent temps at 3.8 where it still is today.

Had it stable at 3.9 but it was running very hot, so put it back to 3.8.

If your happy with the FSB/Volts/Temps then leave it, run Prime on it and see how stable it is and how hot it gets.

i used a.i. suite, set it to the preset game setting and it crashes every time

I just increased the FSB via Ai suite when I did mine, Ai Booster > Advance then adjusted the FSB to the desired frequency.

Install Real temp and keep an eye on the core temps, maybe the temps are the cause of the crashes.

what is your cpu clock ratio setting? 8 or 9? 8=3.6ghz or 9=3.8ghz.

left the clock setting at 9, and put the fsb to 400, that gave me 3.6.

Using pc probe my cpu doesnt seem to go above 41c playing bad company 2.

although my motherboard temp is running at 45, think i need to turn my exhaust fans up a little

did you get a chance to check all your bios settings? or are the changes you mentioned it?
