8500 multipler question

in the bois my cpu multipler was set to auto
when i go into cpu z it shows 6
so i have changed the bois from auto to 9
when i go into cpu z now at startup it shos 9, then goes to 6 and sometimes changes to 9

why is this ?
 
Intel speedstep reduces the multiplier when idle.
You can disable if you want, EIST & C1E in the BIOS
