on the 8600gt cards is there an option for the classic control panel or is everything now shifted to the new control panel only?

Shifted to the new, will need a reg hack like the 8800's. :)

once reg hacked then the old control panel will appear?

reason i ask is i want to see if there advanced monitor setup is still available for these new cards, i will post a screenshot up in a little while from my 7600gs machine to show what i mean.

thats the screen i want to know if its still available with the 8 series of nvidia cards, the advanced timing screen. its available on the 93.71 latest driver for geforce 6/7 cards, and appears when coolbits is installed.

that screen basically does a better job than powerstrip for setting custom resolutions that show up in any game i use.

just making a 1360x768 rez is not good enough since i will need access to the advanced timing settinsg like the porch sizes etc.

Mav I just checked on my 7900gs options and it shows that advanced bit before enabling coolbits (enabled coolbits after).

<edit> with the 93.xx driver that is.

probably is available before coolbits, i forget now what turns up with coolbits other than the clocking tab.

so does anyone know if this shows up for 8 series cards?

i've just checked on an 8800 ultra and it appears to be there, or at least something very similar. you go > manage custom resolutions > create, and then open the advanced tab.
