Hi, I have a 2 week old PNY 8600gts PCIE card, using it for office/internet it works fine, when I try to run 3d games after about 1 to 2 minutes the screen goes blank and the sound stutters. Tried 3Dmark 05, I can get between 10 to 40 seconds before the screen goes blank and I need to restart the computer.

I have reinstalled DX9, tried 169.21 drivers, tried 163.71 drivers. Idle temp is 43/44c goes up to 51c on the nTune stability test (runs that test with no lock ups).


Can someone give me any more adive on what I can try/do?
 
Do you have the PCI-E power connected to the card?

If your CPU is overclocked set it back to stock and see what happens.

However, i get issues with 3dm05, but 06 runs perfect so try that instead :)
 
PCI-E power supply is connected and is running at stock settings, I get the same result with 3Dmark 06. When nTune does the stability test it does that ok and temp shows 51c.

I was thinking of taking the fan/heatsink off and putting artic silver under it instead of what is there now?
