8600m GS

Hi, I have a few laptops so thought I would add to this thread with some info on CS:S.

Asus F3K
Turion TL-56 1.8ghz
4gb DDR2
Radeon X2300 128
Vista X64

Runs CS:S on all high no AA/AF

60fps - with lows of 40ish.
I run it with simple shadows and model detail on medium and get frames of around 75 with lows of 45ish.

second machine is a x700 based laptop which gives very similar frame rates even though the processor and ram are not as good. Overall the x700 seems the better mobile card of the two. For info and I dont know how much use this will be.

Both machines will play oblivion relatively well (not great) but playable assuming WOW is no more demanding I would assume that the card mentioned in the OP will perform ok.

Right thats nice, I think I may well be getting a laptops soon!

@ pulse, what about all on low 1440x900 with NO AA/AF? it should get circa 100fps?

PS Dont care how poop it looks, im more interested in FPS :p!

Thanks in advace!

I'd expect it to average about 120. Turned it off now, so can't be bothered with more testing :)

Laptop specs are - T7300 (2GHz Core2Duo), 2GB Ram, 8600M GS 256MB, 2x200GB HDD's and 17" Screen.

Thats awesome, may I ask what brand etc? Thats almost identical to the one I am after, looks like it should run Source nicely on a 22" monitor, wicked!

my Dell XPS 1530:

Core 2 Duo T8300
Vista 32bit
2 GB RAM
8600G T

Runs all source very well, not tried other titles but I think the CPU and Gfx grunt in these things will stand you in good stead, especially on 15 - 17" screens
