8600s released in Australia

australian dollars are really bad i think even worse than american and we get about $2 to £1

So that would be about £160 then. His CPU isgt at 3Ghz like mine and hes only getting 5.5k in 06 so its slower than my 7900GTO, and it only had 256Mb RAM.

I dont think i will get one, id rather spend the extra on an 8800GTS. If a 512Mb version appears i may consider it tho

Taken from that site you posted, a review of the Club3D 8600GTS (its in German). Game performance isn't looking good compared to the other cards its benchmarked against (X1950pro and 7900GT), bar the Riddick test :(

The X1950pro and 8800GTS look like the choice for people with a budget.

A 8600 cannot be 160.

It needs to be cheaper than a GTS by more than 20 or no one will buy them.

I think they will come in at around 129inc

wow its not very fast i thought it would be competing against the 1950pro but its bearly faster than the 7900gt

I really hope that's just immature drivers, otherwise it's not even going to take the X1950 Pro out. :(

I'm gutted, was really hoping to pick one of these up, but i'm not taking a performance hit, it's got to be faster than what I currently have.

If it's not even up to the X1950 Pro then nVidia are going to have to price this at ~£100 just to get them to shift off the shelves.

I'm hoping that benchmark is wrong.

WoW that certainly doesn't look good.

It will still shift as its a Dx10 card.

Come on mate, you can't really use DirectX 10 as a reason to shift cards.

I don't think people will buy it for Dx10 either. If it's not quick, it won't sell.

[Edit] Meh, ninja edit. ;)

i dont think dx10 will matter if its that slow but we must remember one thing
its the gt version the gts is much faster in clock speed

It looks like it's the GTS actually?

319.00 AUD

=

132.690 GBP

£130 quid, i reckon they have to make it a cool £100 in uk or else everyone will just pick up 8800gts 320mb

I would wait for some real benchmarks to come through.

All this speculation about GFX cards is doing my head in :(

Quoted for truth.

Plus hopefully ATi will be more competitive in this sector this time around. The X1600s were nothing short of plain shocking, except the X1650XT, but it came far too late to save the range.
