Hi all,

Have my 8700K stable (Prime 12Hrs, IBT Max - 10 passes, and RealBench 8Hrs) @ 5GHz 1.315V.

Hottest I've seen is late 80's while stressing.

Most games I get between 48-55oC (Odyssey, RE2, etc) FC - New dawn settles around 63oC.

I know its a well versed question, are these temps OK?

Yeah they're fine, if you want to drop around 20 degree's off then delid it. Its really easy with the 8700k

Yeah might consider that going forward, good to know about the temps, a wee bit hotter than I'm used to with Haswell/Devil's Canyon!

What's your cooling, out of interest? You're in the same ballpark as I am and mine's a delid! Our house is very warm though tbf (worst luck).

Mine is under an EVGA CLC 280 AIO, my ambient temps are around 20oC

That's some fantastic temps. You must have a good set up or the system is sitting in a cool well vented place. Some running none k chips and seeing a lot worse than you.

Your temps look to be around ~5 degrees lower than mine under the same load scenarios (5ghz with 1.31v IIRC).

My cooler is a CoolerMaster ML240 and the Case is a MetallicGear Neo-G Mini (Itx case with Tempered glass front with ~ inch of clearance for the fans).

I tend to run mine day to day at 4.9Ghz (5Ghz 1-2 core boost) with 1.23-5 voltage. Drops temps noticeably and I can't tell any different in raw performance.

The temp drop is very important and the only intake I have is through the radiator on the front. Running at 5ghz was fine for the CPU but quickly heat soaked by 1080ti.
