So I've worked out for myself that the EK waterblock i currently have will work on my new 8700k but I wasn't sure if I should be using the same jet insert for the 1150 chips or the one for the 2011 chips. I think the 1151 6c is a bigger chip so should you change it to the jet for the bigger 2011 or won't it make any difference?

I'm not sure if that makes sense. :)

Either EK hasn't updated the manual or it has remained the same for Coffeelake as it still recommends Insert 1 and Jetplate 2. Try dropping them a email and see if that is still their recommendation.

Thanks PastyMuncher. I decided to just go with it and see what happened. Everything seems to be okay although I couldn't find my good tim so just used some MX4 I did manage to find. Temps could be better but it's certainly nothing to worry about. I just need to do some proper testing now. :)
