8800 gt overclocking

Hi,

Going to give it a go overclocking my 8800 GT using Rivatuner v2.09 and use 3dmark06 return to proxycon to stress the card to test it. I've read the guides and am looking forward to giving it a go but I'm worried I might miss the tell tale signs that appear when you push the overclock to far.

My question is a bit stoopid really, Are the 'artefacts' easy to spot? and how many loops of 3dmarks test should i run it before they might appear or condsider the over clock a sucess?

You can use atitool to test for artefacts as well.

Do they show up right away or is it more like after 20 mins or so?

If your right on the edge of stability it could take 10-20 minutes to show errors, if your past that though it will be almost instant.

And they are fairly noticable?

The timer at the bottom of the atitool window will restart. It will say 'no errors for' and then the length of time. Anyway sometimes it misses them so you should look for:

memory too far = little dots appearing.
core too far = coloured diagonal lines.
