My son's bfg 8800gt locks up and crashes pc after 3-4 hours gaming , it takes about 15 to 30 mins to start working again after crash.
It dosn't show any artifacting or problems during game play just crashes the pc after extended play. As any body suffered these type of probs.
Fan speeds run at 100% via riva-tuner and temp never excede 70 centigrade
 
no the last time it happened i put the card in my pc and i got the video/graphics error beeps from the bios and my gts started up ok in my son's pc so it's got to be the card.
Seems like some sort of fail safe that kills the card for a while i never heard of before.
