Hello there guys, recently i got home today and to my suprise my computer screen kept saying no signal? this has never happened before and was working fine last night.

My computer specs :

Q6600
8800GT
P5n-E SLI Motherboard
4gb Ram
550W psu

Its strange when i boot up the computer it starts up fine, i can hear it working my mouse / keyboard and headset lights all come on fine. I heard 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps...what does this mean? Is my graphics card broken? I bought the computer from mesh computers 1 year ago and my warranty expired 2 weeks ago...and this happens? I am a university student so i really dont have the money to buy a new gc >.<

I cleaned out my computer, and left my ram / gc out of its sockets for about 1 hour like the person at Mesh Computers told me to..but nothing.

Is this definetly my GC? Also surely graphics cards come with more warranty than just 1 year i mean its ridicolous, a gc breaking after just 1 year?!?
Edit: also i never overclocked anything in my computer, i dont even know how to...

Thank you lads, i do appreciate the help. Seems like my pathetic card is dead already...

The make is just a normal one mate? Nvidia G foce 8800gt, will nvidia give me a new one mate?

If not lads, any recommendations on graphics cards? I was thinking of the 5850 but i dont know if it will fit in my case or even work in my motherboard...man this sucks when you dont know nothing about computers :/

Just checked that my computer has something called a Digital / Analogue TV Tuner PCI Card..? Whats this and would this be an issue in my problem?

Also just checked that the fan on my graphics card is still spinning perfectly well, from what i can see the computer seems to be running fine, just no signal at all on the screen? If the fan is still spinning surely the GC is still working or?

Guys any ideas, anyone know if this issue might be something else other than the GC. Means i dont have to waste 200 quid and find out its something else :/

Do you know anyone with a computer that has a PCI-E graphics card? How about buying an el-cheapo one for say, £20 to use as a tester.

Nah i dont know anyone with that mate, only a freind with a gtx285. If it turns out to be my GC, would it be worth buying a 5850 right now? Ive heard its good for the price, also will this card work with my motherboard? Im gusssing i have to uninstall the nvidia drivers and install the ati drivers if i do go with ati (never had ati before)

A 5850 will be fine with your motherboard.

8800GT? arrh this is the card with the fan set to run at 25% all time ........it does work bt if u don't have a well ventilated case i think this why it may have died on u ..... i had 1 did some research on it ... i had to install riva tuner to get fan going to 100% for when im gaming , had to set it to come on at 41% as i was ruinning duel screen on it , a very loud fan at 100% as well ,recommend getting a upgrade heat sink if u don't like the loudness
